Samacora 1985
On the evening of 10 October, 40 St Mary’s College boys of the 1985 vintage celebrated their 40-year-out anniversary.
The reunion, at the Odeon on Harcourt Street, was a beautiful evening of craic and warm reminiscences. See the attached pictures.
Class Captains Tony Moore and Gerry Keogh kicked off the proceedings with a witty welcome speech, noting that attendees had travelled from the UK, America, Dubai, Australia and Hong Kong. They also fondly remembered our fallen comrades.
The soirée, generously supported by the PPU and attended by a number of our great former teachers (Mr Noel Doyle, Mr Kevin Lewis, Mr Liam Naughton, Mr Sean McCarthy, Mr Michael Leonard, Mr Ian Lee and Mr Michael Brennan) wrapped up after 2 am.
Our Samacora '85 Whatsapp group is going strong still, and there's no doubt we'll be doing these reunions many more times.
Peter Cross, Class of 1985
