What a day we had at Castle Golf Club for the 2025 St. Mary’s PPU Golf Day!

Perfect weather, a full time sheet, fierce competition, and great craic from start to finish.

We were thrilled to welcome over 70 golfers on the day, with the course in top condition and the sun shining down—clearly, someone upstairs is a Mary’s man!

A huge thank you to our generous hole sponsors:

Key Capital (JP Maguire), Zambrero (Darragh Fanning), Marquee AV (Ian and Al Redmond), Fanagan’s Funeral Homes (David Fanagan), Sparks Wealth (Darragh Coleman), Ludovico Partners (David Phelan), Google (Alan Mountaine), Verve (Barry Muldowney), and Camden Rotisserie (John Paul Lynch).

Photos from the day can be viewed below (login required)

A special word of thanks goes to Alan Mountaine and Frank Murray, the chief organisers who made the day run like clockwork. We also extend our gratitude to Castle Golf Club for hosting us so warmly once again.

We were honoured to have PPU President John McDonald on hand to present the prizes and keep the post-round banter flowing.

Congratulations to our prize winners:

• 1st Place – Paul Sheehan (1987)

• 2nd Place – Calum Gray (2017)

• 3rd Place – Ciaran Murray (2009)

• Team Prize – The Murrays

• Past President’s Prize – Joe Turley (1977)

• Longest Drive – Richie Sweeney (2005)

• Closest to the Pin – Calum Gray (2017)

• Lucky Dips – Mick Power, Johnny Kennedy

And yes… in case you missed the whispers around the bar—the PPU Treasurer was indeed on the winning team. We’ll be watching the prize budget very closely next year!

Save the Date:

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year – Thursday, 14th May 2026 – so pencil it into the diary now.

Thanks to everyone who played, dined, supported, or simply showed up. We’ll see you again next year!
