PPU News

The new group *Kenilworth for the Kids* is made up of parents from the school and the clubs that will benefit from more all-weather pitches near to where we live and we’re trying to rally support to make sure the sports pitch at Kenilworth Square gets upgraded, so our kids and young people across the community can benefit.

Right now, there’s a massive shortage of all-weather pitches in the city, and it’s stopping so many kids from getting the exercise they need, especially in winter and the rest of the year when it’s rained off! We think that the new pitch at St. Mary's Rathmines has been a game-changer for local GAA, soccer, and rugby clubs and we want to bring that success to Kenilworth.

We believe that this project is all about creating a safe and accessible space for boys and girls and as parents we’re working hard to make sure it’s done in a way that respects the local area.

We need your help to make this a reality. We’re just getting started and would love if you would show your support and *follow us on Instagram* @kenilworthforthekids https://www.instagram.com/kenilworthforthekids/ and/or *join the WhatsApp group* for updates: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ech53lzIsrbDKWQ2VKrDgB and if you’d like to be added to the WhatsApp group for updates and ways to support the campaign let us know.

We've created a petition to show local politicians that there is a large number of us who support the upgrading of Kenilworth Square and if you want to *show your support you can sign the petition* here: https://my.uplift.ie/petitions/kenilworth-for-the-kids

We will be hosting a virtual get together in the coming weeks for anyone who wants to get involved and would be delighted to hear from anyone who wants to lend a hand.
